The Allure of Yunokawa Hot Spring

Enomoto Takeaki is said to have bathed in the hot spring around the time of the Battle of Hakodate.
The name “Yunokawa” is widely believed to be derived from the Ainu words for “hot spring” and “river,” leading us to believe the spring has been a voluminous source of hot water for a very long time.
The daily output of the spring to this day is 7,000 tons, with an average temperature of around 65ºC. The water has a high salt concentration, which is said to help warm your body from the center, preventing you from getting a chill when you get out of the bath.
